Domaine Viticole Keyser-Kohll is a classic family winery on the Luxembourg Moselle, now run by the third generation. Winemaker Frank Kohll works with a clear focus on origin and craftsmanship. The vines grow in well-known sites such as Ehnerberg, Kelterberg, and Wousselt, which give the range its character and demonstrate how strongly terroir and microclimate can shape a wine’s style. In both cellar and vineyard, the winery cultivates a wide variety of grape types, including Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Auxerrois. This diversity is typical of Luxembourg and allows the estate to offer multiple styles—from fresh, crisp whites to more structured and mature interpretations, depending on the site and vinification. A special role is played by the Crémant de Luxembourg. Since 1991, the ‘birth year’ of the appellation, Keyser-Kohll has been part of it from the beginning and helped define this category over the decades. Today, the house produces three different Crémants: a Crémant Brut, a Crémant Prestige Brut, and a Crémant Rosé Brut—ranging from the classic aperitif style to a more refined, mature version. Frank Kohll describes the work of a winemaker as something that goes far beyond simple production. You are your own boss, but also fully responsible—for decisions in the vineyard, in the cellar, and ultimately for what ends up in the bottle. For him, the most formative part is working in harmony with nature—learning to understand it and turning grapes step by step into a finished product, from vine to wine. Added to that is the sales aspect, which makes the profession even more varied: direct contact with people, conversations, feedback, and encounters are just as important as the time spent working outside among the vines.
