About us

Paul Zahlen is a young Luxembourg winegrower whose roots in viticulture run deep. Grape growing has been part of his family for generations, as his grandparents René and Emily dedicated their lives to working the vineyards. Although the tradition skipped one generation, Paul chose to return to his origins and take the family heritage a step further by not only growing grapes, but also producing his own wines, something his grandparents never did.

In the vineyard, Paul follows a clear and consistent philosophy centered on healthy soils and naturally balanced vines. He avoids chemical fertilizers and instead supports his vineyards through natural methods rather than forcing growth through intensive chemical intervention. Today, only biological plant protection products are used, as he is actively transitioning from conventional treatments to a fully biological approach. This process will allow him to officially obtain the biological winemaker certification in 2025.

Sustainability goes beyond the vines. One of Paul’s key commitments is to reduce plastic use in both the vineyard and winery to an absolute minimum. Bottles are produced without capsules, plastic from biological pheromone traps is fully recycled, and biodegradable materials are used wherever possible.

Guided by the belief that “we do not inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children,” Paul Zahlen’s wines reflect respect for nature, patience, and a new generation’s vision of responsible Luxembourg winemaking.
