The Gewürztraminer Charta Ahn Göllebour 2020 from Domaine Max Lahr & Fils showcases how depth emerges when patience, craftsmanship and terroir unite. It bears the Charta Privatwënzer quality label, awarded by an independent commission for strict adherence to terroir, limited yields and artisanal winemaking. The Göllebour parcel in Ahn rests on shell limestone with heavy, stony soils that lend structure, minerality and density. Full southern exposure ensures ripeness, while low yields of about fifty hectoliters per hectare enhance concentration and character. As a Charta wine, it undergoes double evaluation before release, gaining harmony and depth. In the glass, aromas of rose, lychee, violet and tropical fruit mingle with a delicate pineapple finish. Despite around twenty grams of residual sugar, it remains elegant and lively, pairing beautifully with foie gras, melon and ham, cheese or spicy Asian dishes.
