Riesling Felsberg

With Riesling Felsberg, Fru by Georges Schiltz once again demonstrates a talent for distinctive terroir. Unlike the estate’s calcareous vineyards, this site features gypsum and keuper clay, lending smooth texture and vivid freshness. The steep slope demands patience and precision, and only exceptional years yield late harvests of remarkable ripeness. Selected high-ripeness grapes, partly noble rot-affected, bring aromatic depth and complexity. The result is a Riesling Vendange Tardive reminiscent of Mosel and Rheingau wines yet unmistakably Luxembourgish. Aromas of ripe peach, dried apricot and honey meet a palate of silky sweetness and firm acidity, delivering length and tension. Perfect with Coq au Vin, mature cheese or dark chocolate, it proves that sweet wines can be complex and characterful expressions of craftsmanship and curiosity.
